Day 5 - Build day 2

Day 2 and the group appeared not as enthusiastically as the previous day, sore arms and hands were obvious,  luckily we had an easy day ahead to help us recover a bit. We had gone out very hard on the first day and apparently we did too much work, leaving little to do that day. Tuesday was spent mixing wet cement mix and then transporting it up the line by bucket brigade and spreading it with the help of the skilled workers. This meant many breaks throughout the day, which gave us an opportunity to look around our village. During one of our wanders our friend and cambodian volunteer,  Bun, was demonstrating how to cross the river on a log, when he fell in, to our amusement. Bun has had to adapt to the Australian sense of humour very quickly.
Our day in the village ended with a trip to a local fishing village where the villagers fish with nets and some villagers do sand mining to sell for local build sites. We were spoilt with warm beer and some local fare (deep fried banana in rice).
When we returned to our hotel, all 10 of us went to the hotel next door for a very well earned massage.
No one was hungry, so we all went our separate ways, some to the Red Piano (made famous by Angelina Jolie in the Tomb Raider Movies) and some to the night market. I believe all were home and tucked up in bed by 10.
Stay tuned for more, hopefully tonight.
