Do you want to make a difference?

Hi visitors
If you know someone on this tour and wish to make a donation of cash or old colored pencils, please feel free to let us know, ALL donations will be gratefully accepted, so far we have had some amazing sponsors, South Melbourne Glass made a significant donation as did John Holland Group who have donated all of our personal protection gear for the build.
If you want to make a difference in the world then this is a great place to start.

Team news

Just a few things to consider before head off to Cambodia:

• We should all have our vaccinations in order by now.  Did you know that if you have private health insurance with extras, you might be able to claim your vaccinations.  HBA will pay back anything that you paid after the first $34.  I’ve got rebates on my Cholera, Hep A (and Booster), Typhoid, etc .  It’s worth asking the question

• We can take 30kg’s per person in baggage, which means that we are going to have plenty of kg’s to take pens, pencils, exercise books etc.   I am planning to carry about 15kg of luggage for me, but even if everyone has 20kg’s then we still have another 80kgs for gifts.   If you are taking anything like that – please let me know the weight so that I can track it – doesn’t matter if any individually goes over – we are weighed as a group.  It’s probably easiest to carry that sort of stuff in cardboard boxes with a label on the outside as to what it is.  Don’t be tempted to buy a suitcase from the op shop – you don’t know what’s been in it before and you don’t want the drug policy or the dogs to stop you at the airport!

• We are in the process of printing up the T-shirts at the moment so please let me know what size you want – small, medium, large or extra-large.  We have 5 of each size, so first in, best dressed.   I have a few extra T-shirts if anyone wants one – they are $20 each.   Or you can buy them off the habitat website – but be careful – the postage from the states is horrendous!  It cost me $200 (US) to get 20 shirts sent over!

• Anyone who has not finalised their donation to Habitat yet – please let me know so that we can get that finalised.

• Anyone who has not sent their Police Report yet – again, please let me know.

• Passports arrived back today with visas all done – and I am expecting to get the air tickets any day.   As soon as I have those, I will contact you all individually to give them all back to you so that you can do any duty free shopping that you might want to do.

• And finally – Habitat are arranging a Conference Call on Friday 14 October at 12.30pm just for our group, so that we can ask any last minute questions of them etc.  They will send you the details of how to log on to the call next week, but pop it in your diary for now.
